can you make repair from PC with a com port ?

Hi Felicia ..
My box has an age somewhere around two years .
I 've tried to take away from the power socket but has not changed anything. I've tried to flashing through PC connection but it does not react via com port . I tried to Toolbox for amiko 3612 and it is not efficient way . I can not understand why this is so.
